Winning

Master 4 getting in to the meatball prep
Work lately has really been getting me down, so much that I cannot change no matter how I want to, I've noticed that my attitude and sleeping patterns have been off because of it. I've taken 3 weeks leave with my final shift being last night. To be honest I have been entertaining the thought of changing jobs but continually putting it in the too hard basket while doing 12wbt. D also has next week off so I'm hoping for some clarity and a chance to really sit down and think about what I want and where I want to be career wise. I know it's not Friday but I have posted some winner NSV's on Facebook this week so I though I'd document them here, so that I can look back on those days when I'm feeling really low.

Even though I missed my dinner break at work last night, I didn't stop at Macca's on the way home, I bought a sandwich and a bottle of water from the service station. Didn't even consider getting chocolate.
I also looked at the nutrition panel, and choose with my head... though the chicken schnitzel one did look yum, wasn't worth the calories though!

I am $30 away from a brand new pair of Asic's that are on layby... I'm so excited as my poor old puma's are almost ready to fall apart.
We love meatballs

I take the high options at Attack and Combat classes, no more 'I cant' I do, until I physically cannot anymore instead of always option for the low options.

Kids have continued to eat EVERYTHING that is being dished up to them. Master 4 is interested and engaged and loves to 'help' cook. At the supermarket he takes great pleasure in getting the veggies that we need and even asks for help. He asked the produce worker where the Gai Lam was today as he couldn't find it.... hence we ended up with two bunches of endives instead but we will go with it.
You can stir fry that right?

I climbed the fire trail at Mt Dandenong with a good friend, took us 2 and a half hours, we got lost twice but made it up and back alive and almost willing to do it again. Though my butt was sore for a good two days.

Snapshot from the top, foggy but still beautiful

I finally got into the workout tight bandwagon, snaffled some from Aldi, bought L and XL.... the larges fit like a dream so now not sure what to do with the XL pair... :D
My ass looks pretty hot in them too...

Last week had sore and aching muscles for 5/7 days, and kind of liked it

Have turned down yummy foods on offer and opted for better options, Been going to bed early and though still slightly addicted to popcorn and ginger nut cookies is much better than the bag of potato chips and lollies that I used to consume at night.

I ran a km in 6 minutes... does that make me a runner? I never in my wildest dreams thought that I could make that kind of time, that's real running time, not fat shuffling time.
That was with needing to slow and pull up said running tights, does that make them too big? or just gravity and my rolls not compatible at high speeds?

Fingers crossed for a good result tomorrow, though even if I lose nothing on the scales, I feel that I've all ready won :)

Tally up

I realised this morning it had been a while since I have reported in on my kids and the overall success of the 12wbt vs my cherubs...

We had a great success with the chicken and leek pies both kids devoured them even my daughter who's serve seemed monstrous cleaned her plate.

Both have been having a love affair with wraps much to my delight and have been happily consuming them with gusto. Master 4 has started requesting 'rats' for his kinder lunchbox.
We have swapped in the 'bacon and egg roll a few times and both kids happily consumed half each.
Due to my non-consistent weeks I confess a lot of meals were made for the adults while the kids were prepared their own dishes...
Chances that was adding to my stress level very likely!

Miss 1 and I have has the couscous breakfast a few times now and Master 4 had it for afternoon tea yesterday. I was very skeptical about it but so glad I took the plunge and tried it!
Delish!

The other hands down winner has been the beef tangine, the whole family LOVED it. I did it in the slow cooker and was Starving by 5pm... Smelt and tasted Devine.

New Tally
12wbt: 20 kids: 3

(No meals have been refused by both kids in the past week)

*happy dance*

Week 3 already!

I can't believe that yesterday was the beginning of week 3,
I feel like I blinked and missed it.
One thing I must say is that my illness REALLY knocked me on my ass last week. after a few walks to and from kinder and very short bursts on the wii I felt as though I wasn't really getting anywhere, It also highlighted that I was a lot less organized that I believed I was.
On Sunday my appetite returned with a vengeance that knew no bounds and my body was screaming for sweet comfort foods and seemed that nothing was enough to satisfy. Lot's of air popped popcorn was consumed and a very early night was had.

This week I have been focusing my efforts on organization.
I have been freezer stocking meals, so I have portions of butter chicken all ready in, with dahl and chicken and quinoa soup container-ed but not in as yet.

                         OMG best meal EVER!

Last week's Winner recipe was the fish stew.
OMG Amazing.... plus my daughter ate it... I was shocked but she loved it

Current Tally
(though it's slightly out of whack due to being sick and succumbing to the 'easy' meals excuse)

12wbt: 12 ~~~~ Kids: 3

I am most looking forwards to zumba this evening feels like forever since I've sweat it out.
Fingers crossed for a loss tomorrow, even though I don't really deserve one!

Today Miss 1 and I enjoyed the dahl for lunch I cheated with the recipe a little by making it 3 portions and having some delicious garlic Afgan bread... SO worth it, and I'm most happy to take the calories for a 350 lunch and have a lighter snack!

SSS and resting

Tonight I ran myself a hot bath, added in some Epsom salts and had a little mummy meditation...
Until both kidlets decided mummies bath was so much more fun that eating dinner...

Yesterday I did the SSS with two super awesome girls from the local Facebook group. I am so glad that they put it out that they were doing training together and anyone was welcome. Cause boy did I feel stupid. By the end however despite being sore, sweaty and sorry for myself we managed to knock out 650cal of the days activity.
Once home, I fired up the wii and Master 4 and I had some fun playing for an hour and cooking off an additional 400cal. Though it was slow going the wii isn't an attack class that's for sure it was good to involve the kids and enjoy my last part of the burn rather than struggle through it.
In saying that my energy levels seem to have spiked again (thank goodness) and that JFDI mindset kicked in and pushed me further than I could have achieved going it alone.

Had a small dietary blip when we went to see a friend in hospital after an accident with her pressure cooker. By 3pm realized I was starving but only had dodgy food available and though I enjoyed every mouthful of my wedges and steamed dim sim still had some guilt on about it.

Dinner was the AWESOME salmon stir fry! How have I not thought to stir fry salmon before?
All in all under calories for the day so a win all around .

Breakfast Fritatta: for the win

Today was supposed to be my rest day but I had work, I'm an enrolled nurse in aged care so my fitbit was having a field day clocking up steps, stairs and average burn. By the time I got home I was exhausted and Fitbit proudly tells me I've burned just shy of 2000 calories from my shift at work.
Perhaps I need to reconsider what rest means and change my day if appropriate. For now I'll leave it alone and re-assess as week two goes on.

I may have eaten trifle today... you know because I deserved it.... Tiny bit shattered at my enabling attitude and how the devil on my shoulder won this round :(

Once home and soaking my weary body my darling D had cooked tea for tonight...
Looked amazing,
Smelled devine,
Unfortunately tasted awful.... so alas we encountered our first 12wbt fail meal

Just lucky I didn't feed it to the kids!

Current tally,
12wbt: 6, Kids: 2

Both ate yesterdays breakfast of scrambled eggs and baked beans,
Neither would eat the breakfast fritatta (which I though was delish, plus had a complement of how good it smelt when I heated it up at work)
Both also ate the pies.... though once again Master 4 wasn't overly keen, in saying that D was home with them today so followed the meal plan and dished it up to them without a second thought

Someone give this man a prize!
